Privacy policy

This policy explains how THE LUCIF3R NETWORK LTD uses personal data when you visit this website or email us. This site does not operate user accounts, contact forms, payments, a newsletter, marketing emails, advertising tracking, or website analytics.

Who we are

The data controller for this website is THE LUCIF3R NETWORK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17536690), whose registered office is at 43 Goode Way, Crewe, Cheshire, CW2 6AY. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected]. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as one is not required for our activities. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller, registration number ZC283697.

What we collect and why

Website visits. When you visit the site, our hosting and security provider processes technical data that your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and protect it against abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running a secure, working website).

Analytics. We do not currently use website analytics. If we enable analytics in future, we will update this policy first.

Emails to support. If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if you give it), the content of your message and any attachments, any other details you choose to include, and the email metadata (such as dates and delivery headers). We use this to reply to you and deal with your query, and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to enquiries), or contract where your email relates to a contract with us or steps you ask us to take before entering into one. Please do not send us sensitive personal data that we have not asked for.

Arcade. Arcade games load only when you press Play. They are served from a separate origin, arcade.thelucif3rnetwork.com, and run in an isolated sandbox without access to this site's cookies or storage. We do not collect game scores or other gameplay data.

Arcade progress. Arcade games include code to remember your high scores, best times, records and level progress in your browser's local storage for arcade.thelucif3rnetwork.com, so a game can show them the next time you play. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us. It has no expiry date and remains until you clear it. You can delete it by clearing the site data for arcade.thelucif3rnetwork.com in your browser settings. When a game is played in the embedded player on this site, the sandbox does not allow it to use browser storage, so progress may not be saved there. TLN CIRCUIT 666 can also export your save to a file on your device, or import one, but only when you choose to.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies, and our own code does not store information on your device. Fonts are served from this website rather than a third-party font service. Our hosting and security provider may use strictly necessary technical cookies to keep the site secure. See our Cookies page.

Links to our social media profiles and to itch.io take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

YouTube trailer. Some game pages include a trailer hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click to play the trailer; before that, only a still image served from this website is shown. When you click, the trailer loads from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Google/YouTube will then receive information such as your IP address and device and browser information, and may store or access information on your device, under Google's privacy policy.

Purchases. Paid games, such as KEEP IT OUT, are sold through itch.io. We do not take payments on this website. itch.io processes your payment and personal data under its own terms and privacy policy. Any information we receive about a purchase is limited to what itch.io makes available to sellers, as described in itch.io's own documentation.

Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, content delivery and security, and routing of email sent to our support address.
  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): relays the emails we send in reply from our support address. Our Brevo account is protected with two-factor authentication.

Cloudflare and Brevo act as our processors under the data processing terms that form part of their service terms. Emails sent to our support address are forwarded to, and stored in, a Gmail mailbox. Gmail is provided by Google LLC under Google’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; Google is not our processor and is responsible for its own processing of the data in that mailbox. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it if the law requires us to, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International transfers

Cloudflare may process personal data in the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where it does, transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the UK-US “data bridge”), under which Cloudflare is certified, and/or by standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, as set out in its data processing terms. Google LLC is based in the United States and is also certified under the UK Extension; it handles transfers of data in our Gmail mailbox under its own Privacy Policy. Brevo is based in the EU, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection; where Brevo uses sub-processors outside the EU, it relies on the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We do not keep every email for the same length of time. How long we keep correspondence depends on what it is:

  • Ordinary support enquiries and our replies: kept for up to 2 years after the enquiry is resolved, and deleted earlier where they are no longer needed.
  • Correspondence that forms part of our accounting, tax or contractual records: kept for the period the law requires. For company and tax records this is generally 6 years from the end of the financial year it relates to.
  • Records relevant to a legal claim or dispute: kept for as long as reasonably necessary for that claim and the applicable limitation periods.
  • Technical, security and email delivery logs: kept by Cloudflare and Brevo for the periods set by their own services. We do not keep our own copies of these logs. Under our current Brevo account setting, Brevo keeps its transactional sending logs for 1 month, and we have set Brevo never to store previews (copies of the content) of the transactional emails we send. This 1-month period applies only to Brevo’s sending logs; it does not mean all email-related data is deleted after one month. Copies of emails in our mailbox are kept as described above.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict its use, to object to our use of it (including where we rely on legitimate interests), and to data portability where it applies. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month, which may be extended where the law allows.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns first.

Children

This site does not ask visitors for personal data and is not designed to collect data from children. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before emailing us.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if how we use personal data changes, for example if we add new features or services, and will change the date below. For questions, use the Support page.
